Prepare the Way [Anointing at Bethany]

The sermon explored Mary's extravagant act of devotion as she broke an alabaster jar of expensive perfume and poured it over Jesus just days before His crucifixion. While others saw waste, Jesus saw worship. This moment reminds us that Jesus didn't come to be celebrated by crowds or to overthrow governments—He came to die for the sins of mankind. Mary understood what the disciples missed: Jesus was on a mission to the cross. Her radical surrender, spiritual sight, and wholehearted worship challenge us to examine how we're preparing our hearts to receive Jesus. Are we holding back our devotion, or are we ready to "break the jar" and give Him our very best?
